Interested in joining our merry band of muppets eh?

Joining us is a multi-thingymajigged process involving complex graphs, twisty loops and much prodding. I will now go through the steps in excrutiating detail, so pay attention!

Who we are:

We have been around for over ten years now, and in that time we have tried to remain a relatively small and friendly guild. We aim for quality over quantity...

We all know each other reasonably well and enjoy gaming with one another. Many of us have hooked up a number of times in RL for our Muppetfests; the last of these took place in the Netherlands, but Edinburgh, the Cotswolds, Baltimore and Dallas have all seen migrations. Of course we have no problem with those who want to keep their gaming and RL separate.

We are not a RP guild, although many of us do RP when the mood takes us. A good character background and the odd hail in-game is about as RP as we get. We tend to choose RP servers in the hope that the maturity level is a tad higher than the Core servers - and yes, we appreciate the incongruity given our name.

We try not to take anything too seriously, and make no demands of each others time. Our playtimes vary from rarely seen to wondering whether the muppet ever sleeps. To give you a better idea of how many members have logged on in the last month, here are a few stats ordered by timezone:

The average age of our members is probably upper thirties and so there is a somewhat seasoned sense of humour; so for this reason we are not looking to recruit anyone under the age of 18 - unless they are a family member of an existing member.

Besides the banter and camaraderie, there are other advantages associated with being a member of a well established guild. In Warhammer our guild reached rank is 31 (out of 40), and in Aion we are rank 3 like most other established guilds.

Ok, that's a snapshot of us, here is what you need to do if still interested.

The Admissions Process:

1. Have a read of our Codes of Conduct to see if it is stuff you agree with.

2. Ideally nab yourself a Sponsor.

3. Register with this website using a username we will associate with you. For example, if your main character is called McLovin, please use that as your username (or the admin doozers will change it). To register you simply click on the Magic Door (top right tab) and then tip-tappity-tap away in all the empty boxes the same way you would with any other nerdly networking site.

4. Check your inbox as you will be automatically sent an email to confirm your email address. Check your filters if you have not received anything in case your mail server wrongly considered the email to be spicy ham.

5. Once you have been authorised, post a "Hello" in the Muster Hall forum.

Try to include the following info:

  • First name or nickname.
  • Character name(s).
  • Previous MMORPGs (if any).
  • Previous guild affiliations (if any).
  • Your Sponsor (if any).
  • Any additional info to support your application, e.g. liking Marmite is pretty much a shoe-in.

The Trial Period

1. The trial period is about a month, and starts from the moment you post a "Hello" on the forums.

2. Towards the end of your trial period, guild members will be canvassed for their opinion about you.

3. If we like you - you stay, if we do not - you go; it is relatively straightforward!

4. Once the trial period is over your rank will be bumped up.

Regarding Multi-guild Membership

We have no problem with you being a member of another guild on the same server as us, but please note that so long as you are not fully committed to us you will remain at the lowest rank.

If you join us, you are signing up to our Codes of Conduct regardless of what toon you are playing, guilded or otherwise.

Regarding Alts

Whether you have 1 character or 10, you are welcome to bring them all into the guild from day 1.Although due to the number limit in Aion, unplayed toons will be booted if we need the space for more actively played toons. We do have a second guild created purely for those unplayed alts called The Muppeteers Too.

However, we do perform a regular cull of all unplayed toons! Any new recruit that has not been seen in one month will be taken to the nearest volcano and catapulted out of the guild and into a passing lava flow! The same goes for ANY toon that has not played in 2 months.

Exemptions to the Trial Period:

The following individuals/groups are exempt from the trial period:

1. Partners of current full members.

2. Real-life friends of current full members, so long as you have known them for a while.

3. Any member from a guild we have had close associations with in previous games, assuming:

  • The guild is not active on the same server as we are.
  • You left the guild on good terms.
  • You had been a member of this guild for 3 months or more.

The guilds that qualify are:

  • Aure Entuluva
  • Circle of Trust / Multi-gaming
  • Dorlach Sgath
  • Seekers of Truth
  • Talons of the Phoenix
  • Vigilance (Prime)

Note. We reserve the right to review this if we have any concerns regarding individuals who have joined us in this way.

MIA Notes

1. Any new recruit who does not sign on for more than 30 days will be disbanded from the guild, unless they inform us beforehand about their pending absence.

If there are any questions, please feel free to ask.
